Evaluations

Communication Therapies evaluates and diagnoses concerns pertaining to speech, language, voice, and cognitive communication. Evaluations may include:

  • A review of case history and medical history

  • A client and/or caregiver interview

​

  • Informal observations

​

  • Formal standardized assessments

Once the evaluation process is complete, we will provide you with a written report that includes proposed goals, recommendations, and a follow-up phone call to discuss a plan for therapy.

Therapy

All speech therapy sessions are driven by what matters most to you. Therapy skills are practiced within functional activities for  everyday life, with meaningful outcomes such as:

  • Improved word finding in conversation

  • Independent daily task completion

​

  • Clear speech (in person, over the phone, etc.)

​

  • Implementation of technology supports

Home programming may be provided to support continued improvements between sessions. We offer activities and resources as needed to guide consistent home practice.

Stroke & Aphasia

Aphasia is an acquired language disorder that impacts an individual's ability to listen, speak, read, and write. We train caregivers and family members to be supportive communication partners and use evidence-based therapy methods to help adults with aphasia: 

  • Use word-finding strategies

  • Understand what others are saying 

​

  • Feel less frustrated during conversational interactions and language tasks

​

  • Successfully communicate with family, friends, and social groups

​

  • Experience a greater quality of life

TBI & Cognitive Disorders

We provide cognitive communication therapy to individuals who have experienced a stroke, brain injury, or other neurological condition. Through specific strategy instruction and practice within normal life tasks, you or your loved one will experience:
